Boreen Point Camping Grounds - bushland camping on the shore of the largest lake on the Noosa River - Lake Cootharaba.

Lake Cootharaba has been a popular location for recreational activities such as camping, fishing and sailing for more than 70 years.  The lake has a long sandy foreshore for the length of the park.  Camping is not permitted on the beach or foreshore.  You may leave boats and watercraft on the beach during your stay.

Boreen Point sports facilities including a sports field with cricket pitch, BMX track, tennis court, skateboard park and basketball practice area are located behind the campground.

The campground is quite large and visitors are welcome to choose their own site.  We do not take reservations for sites.  However, we have a small number of powered sites, suitable for caravans, which can be booked.  Bookings are taken up to 12 months in advance.

As the park is mostly in it’s natural state, the roads are gravel, and we do not offer laundry Facilities or playground equipment.

Day visitors are welcome to use the beach, foreshore picnic areas and sports facilities.  Vehicles should be parked in the areas provided.  Visitors wishing to enter the campground should first register with the caretakers.  Fees apply for day use of the facilities.

We ask that adults supervise their Children at all times to ensure their safety and the peaceful enjoyment of the park by all guests.

Fauna and Flora in the reserve is protected.  Dogs are not permitted in the reserve or the park.

We provide hot showers, flushing toilets and drinking water in a central amenities block which is cleaned daily.  Help us conserve water by limiting shower times and wastage.  Children should be accompanied to the amenities.

Gas barbecues and wood burning fireplace barbecues are provided.  Campers should bring their own clean firewood.  As a safety precaution and to protect the environment, we do not permit open fires in the campground or on the beach.. Trees must not be damaged for firewood.

All roads in the campground are shared zones.  A speed limit of 8km applies to all vehicles.  Drivers should watch for children and wildlife.  There is no street lighting in the campground and we ask that vehicle usage be limited at night.

As this is a busy family campground frequented by nature lovers, noisy vehicles, loud radios, group parties and generators are not appropriate.  We ask for all noise to cease at 10 p.m.  Please help others to have a peaceful holiday by restricting noise after this time.

The maximum stay is 90 days in any 12 month period. This facility is for holiday letting only, no permanent occupation is allowed.
